Vessels

Kuva: K. VesteriThe everyday vessels used for the storage of food and drink were made at home. Crofters usually ate their food with wooden spoons which were licked clean after the meal and placed on a shelf to wait for the next meal. The food was prepared in cast iron pots or in the oven. Copper pans and kettles were also used. The house also had ceramic bowls. Glass and porcelain objects didn't become common in the homes of regular people until later.
