The collections in Pälämäki

Kuva: K. VesteriThe collection of Pälämäki Museum has a total of 2,220 catalogued and marked artefacts. The majority of the collections were collected in the 1950s. The cataloguing of the collection was started by local historian and museum contributor Kalle Nieminen and his assistants. At this time the artefacts from the H.J. Veijonen collection were incorporated in the main collection. The artefacts received from Armas and Hilma Raitio, lay member of the administrative court and his wife, were also incorporated in the main collection at this time. An inventory of the museum collections was taken in the years 1990 - 1991, at which time all the artefacts were marked and listed in the three main books of the museum. The books have drawings, a description and the measurements of the artefacts. The books give a good overview of the artefacts in Pälämäki. Information about the collections has been elaborated when necessary and the location of the artefact has been noted.

Kuva: K. VesteriA large proportion of the artefacts are farm and household implements that were in use in the 18th, 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

The artefacts can be viewed in the picture galleries.
